Whitney Eve Lookbook Fall 2011

As a big fan of Whitney Port and "The Hills" as well as "The City", I was so happy to see the lookbook for fall 2011 today.

Excited about the news, I opened the gallery and I was surprised! Really. I think, I expected something different. But her new collection is really different from the ones before. Those clean and minimalistic styles are somehow gone. And I don't mean that in a bad way. NO, definitely not! I honestly like it!

You see more colours and patterns than in her previous collections, but the cuts are similar. Dresses, shirst, pants, jumpsuits and vests...which remind me on the "Navajo-Trend" this fall! Although I was surprised at the first sight I can really picture Whitney in this collection - this is totally
WhitneyEVE. Like :-)

Fashion Whisper and the giveaway

As I already wrote yesterday...I love reading other blogs and normally this is the first thing I do in the morning. And a little post about a giveaway from one of my favorite blogs made me think: Why not write about other blogs, too!? So, I decided to have some kind of "Blog Portraits" from time to time!

And today I start with Fashion Whisper! It's Olive from Germany and he writes about fashion, posts his outfits and tells the world what he's doing and thinking! And he does this in a very lovely way, I think. He always spots something no one else regonized before and sometimes it's only little things, but I really feel inspired how he pictures (and his pics are really cool) and writes about his life and passions. (And btw. his outfits are pretty cool too.)

Besides, the post that took my notice this morning was about a GIVEAWAY from Fashion Whisper. You can win the JEFFREY CAMBELL LITAS!!! Awesome. Here you can find the giveaway post and at that time you can also read about Olive's life! Lovely!

Thanks to FASHION WHISPER for that great giveway!

The dress code issue

While reading through all the fashion and style blogs to find little investments for AW 2011 I recognized that most stylings, dresses and outfits are simply not for BUSINESS!

Since I work as a Business Consultant (and unfortunately not in fashion nor a Marketing or PR company) I can't wear everything what's trend in the office. I can wear a lot of these outfits in my companys office, because it's more casual there, but due to the German "book of etiquette" regarding business dress code I'm a partially restricted in my choice. No shorts, no mini skirts or dresses, no neon colours or big bracelets and so on...! I really like blogs like www.9to5chic.com or thewindow.barneys.com, but also Anh from 9to5chic who works as a Marketing Manager can wear clothes which are simply too casual for my industry, sadly. And Barneys...too expensive for a little consultant.

So the little books says:
  • Do's
    • Ladies suit & pants suit
      (fine) pantyhose
      Discreet Make-upClosed shoes
      Well-cared nails
  • Don'ts
    • Transparent blouses
      Mini skirts and dresses
      Low-cut neckline
      Heavy perfume
      Armpit hair (and legs too)
Some of the points are a MUST anyway, but especially when it comes to the clothing I'm bored from time to time, because I can't wear all those beautiful dresses, skirts, transparent blouses, peeptoes, sandals, amazing accessories, leather pants, lace shirts etc....all day long. I have two wardrobes in a way. What is not a Armageddon :-), but sometimes I wish I could wear whatever I want and do not have to iron blouses each morning and dress always in the same way.

Due to this, I decided to focus more on BUSINESS CLOTHING within this blog. Of course, I will also report about all other stuff I'm interested in, but I will try to find cool, chic outfits that don't bore me each morning, but also fit in my consultant life. And what's also really important for me - since I don't make a fortune - I want to find clothing, shoes and pretty little things that are affordable!

I also read an article some time ago written by Claire from c'est clairette which inspired me and made me say: Exactly! That's what we need.

So, let's see if I can reform my business wardrobe :-)

August Glossy Box

Actually, I didn't wanted to order the Glossy Box, but since I always buy a lot of stuff and afterwards I'm disappointed....I think this is a nice and even cheaper way to test the things before.

So, I ordered last month and tataaaa....yesterday I got it! My first Glossy Box! I really like how it looks...girlish and the packaging is cute!

So, it contains:
  • C:EHKO Push-Up Shampoo
  • L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional White base Mascara
  • L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional Black Mascara
  • Malu Wilz Night Affairs Nail Polish (Nr.220)
  • TANA Cosmetics Manoa Cristal Quicky (a small nail studio)
  • Weleda-Extra: refreshing moisturizer

Well, I'm not completely excited, but also not disappointed. The shampoo is not really what I need with my thick hair and the nail polish colour is really not the newest one, but I like the mascara and the little nail studio. It really works and my nails are shining without any polish now!

So, let's see what the September box is holding for us?!

Enjoy your boxes and have a nice weekend!

Happy Birthday Claudia Schiffer

"Claudia hasn't change at all. She has kept her spontaneity as well as her reserve" says Karl Lagerfeld about the German even after 20 years cooperation. (Stern Fotografie)

41 years ago she was born and raised up near Düsseldorf, Germany. Her storybook carrer started end of the 80ies when Ellen von Unwerth shoot her for GUESS. A contract with Chanel followed and soon Karl Lagerfeld discovered her in a Vogue-Editoral. She worked for Revlon, Versace and Valentino and stood in a row with "Supermodels" like Cindy Crawford. Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Helena Christensen and Naomi Campell. She became the first German Supermodel and still is!

Loved for her unique look, her naturalness and her amazing body with curves she is one of the most changeable models for me. Unfortunately, she also changed a lot when the skinny models stormed the runways and Karl Lagerfeld said that her time is over! Long time it seemed so, but she only settled down, married Vince Vaughn and got three beautiful children. After that break it was Karl Lagerfeld who wanted her back with Chanel and Claudia is back in business.

Besides campaign, cover shoots and editorials for some magazines she launched her first cashmere collection with Iris von Arnim this year.

Not only a Supermodel, but also wife, mother and business woman.

What should I say...

...this is another blog!

Why do I want to create blog # 1.000.000?  There are so many blogs who report about the same topics I like to discuss. But to be honest....sometimes I don't get the topics right. Sometimes I don't understand fashion from the runway, sometimes I don't get art and music and videos etc. and often I just like to say what I think and discuss it with YOU like all the other bloggers do it.

Maybe I will close this blog in a few weeks or months, because no one wants to read it, but at least I should try!

So have fun to read and look and let me know whatever you think!
